Community LINK Worker

Mrs. Mar is our Community LINK (Learning Includes Nutrition and Knowledge) Worker. Mrs. Mar works with students to support the academic achievement and social functioning. When students come to Lady Grey Elementary School, they may already know Mrs. Mar, as she also works at Nicholson Elementary School and Alexander Park Elementary School. The Community LINK worker helps by

  • providing nutritious snacks and food programming
  • supporting academic achievement
  • supporting social functioning of students with in-class and one-on-one support
  • facilitating social skills development groups at recess and lunch
  • finding positive ways for students and families to experience success in school
  • participating in School Based Team
  • contributing to individual student goals
  • networking with community agencies and services
  • providing whole school programming (such as Respectful Relationships)

Each year, as part of a continuous improvement cycle, Rocky Mountain School District develops an operational plan that outlines the goals and strategies that will be the focus of the work for the upcoming year. This plan is guided by the current 4-year strategic plan using a variety of student data as the foundation for decision making, schools develop school success plans that identifies targets for improving student learning.
